In-home veterinary care for the pets of NYC.

You can count on us.

Proietto Veterinary Services is veterinary care the way your pet would have designed it. We come to your home or office at your convenience to provide the highest quality veterinary care while giving belly scratches. We concentrate on pet wellness and keeping your pet happy and healthy. It’s veterinary care without lifting a paw.

Wellness Check-Ups
From the first visit and throughout their entire life, we’ll be there to provide the absolute best care for your pet. Our wellness care measures can maximize the fullness of that life both in terms of what your pet can do and for how long. Annual physical exams are important! At Proietto Veterinary Services, we recommend bi-annual wellness check-ups for all of our patients to make sure our team is up-to-date on their health and can keep them feeling their best.
Puppy and Kitten Care

Bringing home a new puppy or kitten is an exciting time for your family. Our team can help you start your new puppy or kitten off right!

FIRST VET VISIT

Our team recommends that you set up your pet’s first visit with us soon after bringing them home. It’s important to get your new pet set up with a good parasite and vaccination program as well as a thorough examination to assure your puppy or kitten is healthy and prepared to stay that way.

VACCINATIONS

Starting puppy and kitten vaccinations and keeping them on a schedule is critical to protecting their fragile systems from the most common diseases.

PARASITE SCREENING

Puppies and kittens eat or sniff at many things that can carry the eggs for internal parasites. Checking yearly for intestinal worms and administering necessary treatments is an important means for assuring your puppy or kitten will be able to absorb nutrients and grow from the food you provide.

Nutritional Consultation
Nutrition plays a critical role in the overall health and well-being of your pet. Your pet’s nutritional needs change with age and activity level. Specially formulated diets can assist in the management of various medical conditions like kidney disease, diabetes, and heart disease. We will work closely with your veterinarian to find the right food and the right intake amount for your pet.

With so many foods on the market and various nutritional requirements depending on the age and health of your pet companion, we are here to help you make the right choices. The team at Proietto Veterinary Services is ready to serve up the right food recommendations to tackle those stubborn feline urinary problems, overweight dogs, or relentless diarrhea. Our team has specific recommendations to help guide you in choosing well-balanced and safe foods for your health puppy, adult, or senior pet.

Pain Management

The Proietto Veterinary Services team has your pet’s best interest at heart, and we’re here to help throughout every stage of life. Pain management is important for pets of every life stage, whether they’re recovering from surgery or working through diagnostic testing. We will make recommendations tailored specifically to your pet to keep him or her feeling happy and healthy.

We also offer solensia injections provided for cats with osteoarthritis. These are monthly injections that will keep your kitty pain-free and feeling their best.

Grooming

We want to keep your pets feeling AND looking their best! Proietto Veterinary Services offers mani/pedis, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, and hygienic hair clipping. For full bathing and grooming, we’re happy to recommend specialists in your area.

Health Certificates
If you’re planning to travel with your pet, there are a number of things to keep in mind as you prepare for the trip, including the need for a health certificate. A health certificate verifies that your pet has been examined by an USDA approved veterinarian and that the pet is in apparent good health, free of parasites and any other potentially contagious conditions. Keep in mind that most countries require a valid animal health certificate that is specific to their country for admittance. They also reserve the right to quarantine or refuse entry to any animal that does not have a valid health certificate. With a clean bill of health and proper documentation, we can issue an international health certificate to allow your pet to travel outside of the United States.
Hospice & Palliative Care

As your pet experiences aging, we can help with challenging medical and physical issues that come up. Our team can help you keep your pet comfortable at home, continuously re-evaluate their well-being, and ultimately, help you decide when to say goodbye.

We recommend https://www.gentlejourneyvetcare.com/ for palliative care and hospice care.

End of Life Care/Euthanasia

We know it is hard to say goodbye to a beloved pet. We recommend https://pawsatpeace.com/about-paws-at-peace/ for end of life services.

Acupuncture

Dr. Stephanie was trained at Chi University in Reddick, Florida. She finds that the traditional Chinese veterinary medicinal practice of acupuncture, an evidence-based treatment honed over thousands of years, can be a key part of an integrative approach to your pets’ health. Although acupuncture can be used to treat any diagnosis, it can be particularly helpful in cases of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), osteoarthritis, and chronic illnesses. Ask about adding acupuncture to your pet’s treatment plan!

Fear Free Exam Package
In-home visits can significantly reduce the stress your pet experiences for their exam. However, it cannot completely eliminate it. Exams involve handling and palpation, and vaccines involve poking and prodding. Our veterinarians are Fear Free ™️ certified, having gone through an intensive program geared to minimize stress and maximize the benefit to your pet. Our Fear Free model is perfect for puppies, friendly pets, and fearful pets alike. Keeping visits positive can prevent future fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS). This package includes 3 visits with the goal of completing a full exam to minimize stress to your pet. This includes “happy” visits of givings treats or affection, weight estimate for any medications that need to be prescribed to treat FAS, playing, or just co-existing without direct contact. Your pet will guide the interaction.

*Vaccinations and bloodwork at additional cost.

Vaccinations
While dogs and cats have some of the same vaccinations like rabies and distemper, they also have different vaccination needs based on the diseases that can affect their species. Our veterinarians will work with you to set up a comprehensive, personalized vaccination schedule to protect your pet.
Laboratory and Diagnostics
It is difficult to see your pet in pain or suffering and not know what’s wrong. Our team provides state of the art in house diagnostics to help us learn what’s wrong and provide an accurate diagnosis. A quicker diagnosis leads to quicker treatment! We do diagnostic testing both in-house and with an outside lab so we can provide results quickly and accurately.
Dental Consultation
Why is dental care so important? Recent studies have shown that 70% of adult cats and 80% of adult dogs show symptoms of oral disease. In fact, most pet parents are not away that their pet is dealing with dental issues. Bad breath, plaque build-up, excessive drooling, sore or bleeding gums when eating or chewing, and decreased appetite are signs that your pet’s teeth may require veterinary attention.

Just as it’s important for you to see a dentist regularly, it’s important for dogs and cats as well. Your pet’s oral health is directly connected to their overall health.

Our team can perform thorough dental exams for our patients and will make recommendations and referrals for necessary care to dental specialists in our area.

Behavioral Consultation

If your pet is are struggling to cope, please let us know. Our doctors can help discuss a treatment plan to help you and your pet succeed.

Disease Management
It’s never easy to see your pet in pain or not feeling well. We understand that and are here to help. Navigating a diagnosis of a disease takes thorough research, knowledge of the patient’s health history, and access to the best tools and medications. Our goal is to keep your pet feeling their best, and we will create a customized care plan to achieve this goal.
